After eight years new career path for Rebecca Wise

After eight wonderful years full of musical adventures, our cellist Rebecca Wise has sadly decided to leave the quartet. A new path lies ahead of her: she will soon become a mother again, after which she will redefine her professional career. Rebecca’s last project with us will be The World’s Wife, which we will perform two more times next autumn. We were a great team and will greatly miss her wonderful cello playing and inspired personality.

Fortunately, we will be playing with several fantastic cellists in the coming months. A new chance to find the ultimate Ragazza,’blow a fresh wind through the ensemble  and concentrate on the future full of energy.

In Rebecca’s own words:
‘After eight colourful, challenging and fun-filled years as their cellist, I have decided to leave the Ragazze Quartet. I am grateful to the core of my being for the countless experiences and musical moments that Rosa, Jeanita, Annemijn and I shared. I left the conservatoire with very little experience in the professional musical world, and fell into the coolest, most exciting chamber music group in The Netherlands, with loving, strong-willed, curious and open minded colleagues (also behind the scenes). In this group I learnt too much to name, not just about every aspect of the musical work we do, but also about organising, about people, about group dynamics. I was able to grow, I became a richer human being. I look forward to the new horizons ahead, but I will carry these years with me always.’
