Looking back on September Me 2026

We look back with great fondness on the tenth edition of the September Me festival, with its ‘she/her’ theme. There were many highlights, including the Opening Concert, the fantastic performances by Artist in Focus Ayanna Witter Johnson, a packed auditorium where Zainab Afailal and the Amsterdam Andalusian Orchestra brought the house down in Arabische Divas, and LUDWIG and Boys Won’t Be Boys with their moving performance A Celebration of Queerness in Classical Music at De Lieve Vrouw. But we also enjoyed the Flint foyer, filled with art centred on the theme of ‘she/her’; the premiere of Happily Ever After by Remy Alexander, created in response to Anne-Maartje Lemereis’s This is (not) a Fairy Tale; beautifully played and sung by the ADAM Quartet, with Anne-Maartje Lemereis on piano and Sterre Konijn; the moving LIJF by Kaya van Gangelen; and so much more!

We’ve shared the stage with some fantastic artists on a number of occasions! Here’s a list of our concerts:

  • The Opening Concert with Ayanna Witter-Johnson
  • They Have Waited Long Enough with Katharine Dain, Raphaela Danksagmüller, Agata Kruszewska, Maria Martpay and Koen Keevel
  • They Have Waited Long Enough with Katharine Dain, Elif Canfezâ Gündüz, Gośka Isphording and Raphaela Danksagmüller
  • Dinner Concert ‘Zij aan Zij’ with Rodante van der Waal
  • They Have Waited Long Enough with Katharine Dain, Raphaela Danksagmüller, Anna voor de Wind and Osama Abdulrasol
