On Wednesday 20 and Thursday 21 March, we were guests at the world-famous Leipziger Buchmesse for a performance at the opening and for a concert the day after. During the opening, in the presence of Chancellor Scholz, outgoing Prime Minister Rutte, other senior politicians and 2,000 people in the audience, we had the chance to play two movements of Elegy in Me by Seung-Won Oh in the beautiful Gewandhaus in Leizig.
Around the presentation of the Buchmesse Award to Omri Boehm, an inspiring philosopher and social scientist, Elegy in Me proved an excellent choice for the occasion. Despite there being only four of us, Ohs music, partly due to the multi-sonic open strings in the chorales, filled the entire concert hall.
Thanks to Sarah Kapustin for replacing Jeanita Vriens, to the Buchmesse for inviting us and to Gewandhaus Leipzig for providing this video.
