There are five new episodes of Radio Ragazze online! After Garth Knox’s Four Into Twenty, this time we dive deeper into Caroline Shaw’s piece The Evergreen.
Caroline’s Nature takes you through the musical universe of Pulitzer Prize and Grammy winner Caroline Shaw (NY). She wrote The Evergreen in 2020 for the Ragazze Quartet. She was inspired by an ancient wise tree, and poetically talks about her work process. In New York – the city where Shaw lives and works – it is not so easy to find a quiet green spot. But there too there are secret gardens that can calm the overcrowded head of a busy artist.
The podcast was produced for the September Me festival by journalist and presenter Botte Jellema, and has now been adapted for Radio Ragazze. Listen (and subscribe) now via your favorite podcast app, or via this link.
This month is the last chance to hear The Evergreen live during Klaterklanken festival; on July 8 in Baarn and on July 16 in Overveen. Do not miss it!
